Today was Ethan's last day with Miss Kasey at the Rowe Center.
She was a wonderful clinician and both Ethan and Jacob loved her. They actually argued in the car about whose Kasey she was. During the course of the semester, she helped Ethan build his vocabulary, use prepositions and pronouns, answer W questions (who, what, when, where, and why), and speak in complete sentences. He has come a long way since his first semester at the Rowe Center a year and a half ago. When he started, he couldn't even say his own name! Now, he is able to carry on a conversation with others and people out in public can pretty much make out what he is saying. We couldn't be happier!
As I have stated before, we have been blessed with all of the students who have been assigned to work with Ethan, and Kasey was definitely no exception. At their spring banquet, she was awarded the "Outstanding Clinician" award! How lucky are we to have had her?!
Ethan will miss working with Kasey, and Jacob will miss playing with Tiger and Bear. There is a cute, little play area set up at the center for kids who are waiting on siblings being serviced. Every Monday and Wednesday, Jacob looked forward to playing with these two, and the little school house.
He will be reunited with his "friends" in September, when we bring Ethan back to meet his new student clinician.
Awww..Ethan has done such a marvelous job. It's really awesome when you find someone so devoted to helping children. We're glad that he had Miss Kasey.
