Kenny had to work yesterday, which was his birthday. It wasn't so bad though, because his coworkers took him out to lunch, and one of them even made him an adorable little medical cake! Not only was it cute, but it was also his favorite kind....carrot cake. She made the cake and cream cheese icing from scratch, and Kenny said that it was delicious. The cake was covered in medical supplies made of fondant and very detailed.
Just look at how amazing it is:
Ethan and Jacob could not wait for Kenny to get home from work. Ethan kept saying, "Happy birthday, Dad!" Jacob was still stuck on the previous holiday and kept saying, "Happy Faver's Day!" (Happy Father's Day) To help pass the time, Ethan, Jacob and I went out to pick up balloons and a strawberry cheesecake. Ethan wanted me to bake Kenny a strawberry cake, but with the hot weather and temps over 100 degrees, I thought a nice cool, creamy cheesecake sounded better. He was happy enough that it had strawberry topping.
Kenny finally came home from work and we had a nice dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise, followed by dessert at home.
Glad you had a nice birthday, Kenny!
We love you!
Funny side note:
We happened to see some of our friends at the restaurant, and as we were walking to the car, Carter asked, "What were they celebrating? Why were they here?"
My reply- "They weren't celebrating anything. They were just eating. When you only have one kid you can do that."
He is now rethinking how many kids he wants to have.
