A craze that has hit our area is called the Cold Water Challenge. If you are challenged, you have 24 hours to complete it by jumping into or getting doused with cold water and donating $10 to the charity of your choice. If you do not complete the challenge, you are suppose to pay $100 to the charity of the challenger's choosing.
Megan's boyfriend, Zach, was challenged and decided to donate to the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America in honor of Ethan! He even asked to borrow one of our Team Ethan shirts to wear while doing it. Ethan was beaming when I told him that Zach was going to jump in a pond to help kids like him. As we were walking to the car, Jacob said, "Mom. Do you think next time you could give me apraxia?" Sometimes, I don't realize how it affects him when Ethan gets attention for it until he says something like that. We explained to him that we can't give it to him and he went along about his business.
We met Zach at Rose Hulman so that Megan could take a video of the challenge and I could take some pictures.
It was only 50 degrees outside, and the water was colder than that!
I love that Zach has a relationship with our entire family and thought of Ethan. It was so sweet and means a lot to us all.
Wow! That's a pretty awesome thing for him to do. You can't buy character like that in today's world. How fortunate you are that Megan has good instincts, and has found herself a solid guy! Pretty cool!
