Megan is loving her color guard experience! It is a grueling schedule, but it keeps her busy and she has made a lot of fantastic friends. To give you an idea of her schedule, last week, she had practice on Monday night for two hours, Tuesday and Thursday nights for three hours, Friday night for four hours, and a competition on Saturday. On competition day, she had to be dropped off at school by noon for rehearsal, and didn't get home until about 2:00 AM on Sunday! There was also supposed to be a performance at the park on Sunday, but it was cancelled due to the weather. As you can see, it is very time consuming, but well worth it!
The Patriot Brigade, which consists of the marching band and color guard, has done very well at their competitions so far. Carter and I were able to attend the first one, where they were the Sweepstakes Winners, which meant that they won first place overall. I am very impressed with the amount of dedication all of the kids and directors have. It is amazing.
I am happy that Megan is involved in an extracurricular activity. It has helped her develop time management and social skills that are so desperately needed in life. It is a lot of fun too!
