Mission Moore

Today, radio station Mix FM in our city held a donation drive called Mission Moore for the victims of the devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.  There was a list of needed items on their website, so the boys and I took the list to Dollar General to see what we could get.

We were able to find a lot of the items on the list and tote for them to travel in.  After Carter got home from school, we took our donation to the radio station where it was loaded onto a semi that will be heading to Oklahoma either tonight or tomorrow.
The boys watched a lot of the footage with me last week and somewhat understand the damaging effects a tornado can have.  We discussed the need for us to sleep in the basement when bad weather is forecast and to head there when it is stormy.  We talked about what it would mean to us for people to help out if we ever needed it.  Ethan and Jacob were so cute throughout it all.  They wanted to drive to Moore to help people build homes, not just give them toilet paper and paper plates.  They have good hearts and truly care about the well-being of others. I hope that as they grow older, their hearts grow bigger and their willingness to help those in need is ever present.
