ISU Homecoming Parade 2013

Kenny and I got up early to take Ethan and Jacob to the ISU homecoming parade.

We stopped at Square Donuts along the way.

We took the boys into the student union to use the restroom before the parade started.  This fountain is right out front, and the boys and I have seen it many times while passing in the car, so since we were right there, Ethan insisted on getting a picture in front of it.  Afterward, we headed down 5th St. to wait for the parade.  Most people watch the parade on Wabash Avenue, which is the main street running the width of the city, so it gets really crowded.  We love to pick a spot on the side street and relax.  Since we are near the end of the parade route, the boys usually end up with tons of candy.  Walkers are tired of carrying their bags and buckets and just start heaving candy by the handfuls.  Not that we need it, but the boys have fun collecting it.

Popsicles and books were new parade handouts for us.  The boys enjoyed the parade, so we were glad that we took a chance on the weather and it panned out.
