Children's Museum Tot Time

Today was our first Tot Time class at our local children's museum!  The lesson was on weather and the boys loved it.  When we first arrived, the boys each got a name tag and then we chose a seat.  There were crayons and weather related coloring pages on the table.  After everyone was seated, Miss Abby invited the kids up for story time.  Ethan said, "Come on Buddy, I'll hold your hand.  Come on, Jake."  They held hands to the front of the room and sat down together.  It was adorable!

They were good listeners and even chimed in a time or two.  After the weather alphabet book, the boys came back to our table to do an experiment about rain.  We were given a glass of water to represent the air outside.  Next, we sprayed a thin layer of shaving cream on top (a cloud) and added a few drops of blue food coloring.  Once the cloud was saturated, the blue dripped through to resemble the rain.  The boys thought it was great!

After the experiment, the kids got to play in shaving cream on the table.  That's always a blast!  We stayed and played at the museum for about twenty minutes and then shopped for dinosaurs with a gift certificate that we were given when we purchased our yearly pass.  As with the classes at the library, the classes at the museum are free.  Yeah!
It was a good time and we will be signing up for Tot Time next month too!
