Ethan, Jacob, Kenny and I attended the Children's Museum's annual Fairy Tale Ball tonight. You could dress up as princes, princesses, pirates, or fairies, so we chose to be a family of pirates. The boys were so excited that we dressed up too.
Each of the museum's three floors had activities related to a certain theme. The first floor's theme was princes, princesses and fairies. The second floor's theme was pirates (our favorite). And, the third floor's theme was Robin Hood.
Belle and Snow White were on the first floor.
On the second floor, the boys were given a treasure map with numbered stations to follow to get some pirate loot. They got tattoos, knocked over milk bottles, walked the plank, and found a secret message in a bottle to decode. The message was: BE KIND.
They even got to see a snake!
On the third floor, they got to shoot bows and arrows, shoot a sling shot, make shields, and watch a magic show while enjoying a snack. There were also scenes from a local middle school's Robin Hood play, but we couldn't talk Ethan into sitting through it.
The big dance party (Fairy Tale Ball) was held back down on the first floor. The boys love to dance, so this was also one of their favorites.
We love our children's museum and had such a good time! Afterward, we stopped at Baskin Robbins for a special treat and some older people got a kick out of our costumes.
