We were on vacation last week! Megan performed in the Pre-Parade of Lights at Disney World's Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, so our family made a big spring break trip out of the whole thing. On Monday, we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It was one of our favorite days. Those parks are easy to navigate, and the lines aren't bad at all. Kenny's mom, Sally, and my niece, Maria, came on vacation with us too. It was nice that they wanted to support Megan.
Carter and Maria got the Express Passes which are great for the rides with long lines. It costs more, but is well worth it because it cuts down your wait time by at least half. We also got to the park shortly after it opened, so for the first couple of hours, we basically just walked onto the rides. The weather was perfect too. Ethan and Jacob's favorite ride was The Cat in the Hat. We rode it three times! Jacob cracked up at the fish in the toilet and has talked about it every day since! We had just read a lot of Dr. Seuss books in preschool, so they loved everything about Seussville, which is the little kid section of the park.
Of all of the theme parks in Orlando, Universal Studios is our favorite. There is something for everyone. The rides are great, the characters are easily accessible and they offer an amazing dining plan. For a little extra money, you get unlimited food and drinks at Universal and Islands of Adventure. It sure beats anything we have come across at Disney! Everything there also seems slower paced and there is a better flow.
Every time we go to Universal, it ends up being one of the best days of the trip!
