I saw Dr. Sakbun on Wednesday to see what he had to say about my abnormal test results. He was VERY reassuring, and I feel so much better now. While I do have cells that have the potential to turn cancerous, they are in the very early stages, and chances are that my own immune system will attack them and kill them off. He said that it is very common, and that 50% of all teenagers have the same results as mine, so that is why they now recommend not starting Pap smears until the age of 21. If left, the cells that I have would probably turn into cancer in about 20 years. I will have a follow up test in June, and if they are still present, I will have them frozen and removed. I just don't want to take any chances.
