A Day Outside

We had such beautiful weather today.  It was in the 60s, which was a nice change from the freezing temps we have had lately.  Kenny had the day off except for a few hours that he had to work at the jail.  He spent most of the afternoon outside with Ethan and Jacob.  The four of us walked down to take a peek a the new house that has been built in the subdivision.  It looks nice from the outside, but I so badly want to see the inside of it!  When Kenny is driving at night, I like to sit in the passenger's seat and look into people's windows when they have their lights on just to see their decor.  Ethan takes after me and loves to look at homes too.  We watch HGTV and look at home decor on Pinterest together.  I love it!
Anyway, back to today!  After the big kids got home from school, everyone spent time outside.

Kenny and Carter played a lot of basketball.

Ethan and Jacob drove the Gator and Dune Racer around the yard while Riley chased them.

Megan practiced spinning her rifle and hung out with her boyfriend, Zach, who spent the evening with us.  They have been dating for over 3 years, and are planning for the junior prom!  They are also both going to be inducted into the National Honor Society on March 7th.  Poor Zach will be having surgery tomorrow morning on his shoulder, so we are praying for a quick recovery.  We fed him very well with pizza and cherry chocolate brownies since he won't be able to eat after midnight.  He has injured his shoulder before, but last week, he dislocated it during wrestling practice and had to be sedated to have it put back in place.  Needless, to say, his parents couldn't see putting off the surgery any longer.  I hope that his wrestling and football days aren't over due to his injury, but they may very well be.  He faces months of rehabilitation, and we are wishing him the best!

Ethan and Jacob assisted with making the brownies, as Ethan now says that he wants to be a chef.

They ended the night by playing a game with Kenny and watching the Cars movie.

I love warm-weather days in the middle of winter.  It was nice to get outside.
